About usHatikvah Film Trust is a Christian ministry which was originally founded as Hatikvah Film Foundation by Hugh Kitson in Australia in 1993 for the production of the documentary film "Jerusalem, the Covenant City". It relocated to the UK in 1998 from where the production was financed, undertaken and later released in 2000. In 2004 the ministry was incorporated as a Limited Company and registered as a Charity in the UK under the name Hatikvah Film Trust (Registered Charity number 1104887). The Charity's primary function is to promote the advancement and understanding of the Christian faith and of Biblical prophecy through the production of documentary films, television and audio-visual programmes. The main objective of Hatikvah Film Trust is to foster an understanding in the Church of the Jewish roots of the Christian faith as well as the place of the nation of Israel and the Jewish people, from both a Biblical and historical perspective, in the purposes of God. A related objective is to counter anti-Semitism which, in the Church, is largely the result of the teaching of 'Replacement Theology' - that the Church has replaced Israel in the purposes and promises of God. The Bible, on the other hand, clearly teaches that the rebirth of Israel in her ancient homeland is the fulfilment of the promises God as revealed by the prophets in accordance with the covenant that God made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. |
